What to Wear for Fall Family Photos (Georgia Edition!)
Fall is one of the dreamiest times of year for photos – the colors, the golden light, the crunch of leaves underfoot – *chef’s kiss*. But here in Georgia, fall doesn’t always mean chilly temps and oversized sweaters. Most of the time, it’s still warm enough to feel like summer, just with prettier trees.
So when planning what to wear for fall photos, you don’t need to bundle up. Here are a few tips to keep it seasonal and comfortable:
1. Think breathable layers.
Instead of chunky knits, go for lightweight, flowy cardigans or denim jackets you can slip on or off. It gives you that cozy fall look without overheating.
2. Fall colors, lighter fabrics.
Rust, mustard, olive, cream, maroon, and navy still photograph beautifully against the leaves – just choose them in cotton, linen, or lighter fabrics.
3. Boots are optional.
If it’s warm, don’t stress about heavy boots – neutral sneakers, flats, or sandals in fall tones work perfectly too.
4. Movement is still magic.
Maxi dresses, skirts, or flowy tops add that whimsical feel while keeping you cool.
5. Comfort first.
If your kids are comfy in short sleeves, keep them that way! Add seasonal vibes with colors and accessories rather than thick layers.
Bottom line: you don’t need a chunky sweater to look like fall – you just need the right colors and textures. Think “cozy in spirit, cool in reality.”
